4W8X Update (23-Dec): The 4W8X DXpedition is over. On Monday, 04-Dec-2023, at 04:59z the last contact went in the log.
Club Log and OQRS: All incoming messages regarding missing contacts have been settled. If you still miss contact(s) with 4W8X, please let us know.
Our callsign 4W8X has been pirated every now and then. Eventually you didn't work us, but the pirate(s).
However, if you once "saw" your contact on Club Log and later it had disappeared, of course we should have a look again.
Else, please request your 4W8X paper QSL card and LotW confirmation here.
Many Thanks for all the contacts. We hope you enjoyed our activity as much as we did. 73 and seasons greetings from DL6FBL and the team.

EME (50 MHz, 144 MHz, 432 MHz, 1296 MHz)

When you are interested in an EME contact with 4W8X, please study the following moon forecasts to identify dates and times, during which there is a possibility / time frame between 4W8X and your location. Please note: The best days will be near the end of our operation.
4W8X will also participate in ARRL International EME Contest on November 25-26, 2023.

  • The 7-ele 50 MHz antenna will be azimuth only (no elevation). However we have a dedicated Radio/Amp setup for this band (Icom IC7300 + RF2K-S) and are quite independent.
  • For 144 MHz we'll have a 2x 11-ele group...
  • For 432 MHz and for 1296 MHz, the same 3.0m Dish will be used. Changing bands means mechanical changes to the antenna and some re-wiring to the station setup.

We will decide on short notice which band(s) to use on a particular day. Announcements like operating frequencies will be made right here on this webpage (you may want to bookmark it) and also in the well-known EME chats N0UK and HB9Q. Our moon OP is Seb, DG5CST.
